Jim moved to Roxboro and began his law practice in 1974. His practice includes family law, estate planning and administration, wills and trusts, real estate, business matters, and representation in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy proceedings.

He also served as attorney for Person County for 18 years while building his private practice.
